Psychiatry Clinic
Serving adults age 18 and older, UCSF Psychiatry provides consultations, evaluations and treatment through visits to our clinic. We care for patients with a wide range of mental health concerns and behavioral disturbances, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and psychosis. We also offer specialized services centered on the needs of specific groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community, older adults and women.
Each patient receives an initial assessment. Based on the results, we develop an individualized treatment plan, which may include brief or long-term individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy (such as group cognitive behavioral therapy), ongoing medication management or referrals to community providers. For eligible patients, we have a program that provides transcranial magnetic stimulation, a noninvasive technique that has been approved to treat major depression and may benefit those with other conditions, including obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety.
We are part of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences.
