Interventional Cardiology Program

At the UCSF Interventional Cardiology Program, our team has advanced training in minimally invasive catheter-based procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions, such as coronary artery disease, vascular disease and valve disease. We use specialized imaging to evaluate blood flow and pressure in the heart, then use innovative techniques to treat abnormalities that impair heart function.

We perform thousands of procedures annually, from routine diagnostic procedures, such as coronary angiograms and cardiac catheterization, to percutaneous coronary intervention (a catheter technique for opening narrowed coronary arteries) and other complex procedures. (A catheter is a thin, flexible tube that can be passed into a blood vessel to reach the heart.) We pride ourselves in offering cutting-edge treatments shown by research and experience to bring the best results.

When it comes to your heart, experience and expertise matter. Our fellowship-trained, board-certified interventional cardiologists are recognized as leaders in the field. We not only serve San Francisco and the Bay Area, but patients travel from the Pacific Northwest and beyond to have procedures with our team. Our cardiologists all offer Zoom video visits, so that patients have convenient access when they need it.
